Rent receipts are not optional theatre
Cash without a recibo leaves tenants unprotected and landlords exposed.

Porto’s rental market still produces the same bad offer: a discount if you pay cash and skip the receipt. That deal is not a favour. Tenants lose proof of payment; landlords skip the tax trail Finanças expects.
Ask for a written contract, a NIF on both sides, and a recibo every month. If the owner refuses, keep looking. Teleporto’s housing board is for real listings, not handshake discounts.
