Terms of use

The service

Teleporto is a free community site operated from Porto, Portugal. People use it to ask questions, answer them, and publish homes and cars. Write to info@teleporto.biz.

Accepting the terms

You may read the site without an account. If you ask a question, post an answer, or publish a home or a car, you accept these terms and the community rules. The service is not for a child under 13 (article 16 of Lei n.º 58/2019).

Teleporto is not a party to the deal

A question, an answer, a home or a car is the content of the person who posted it. Teleporto hosts that content as an intermediary service under Decreto-Lei n.º 7/2004. It does not sell the home or the car, it does not rent it, and it is not an agent for either person.

A deal exists only between the people who make it. If you advertise or sell to a consumer, you follow the consumer rules yourself, including Lei n.º 24/96 and, where a contract is made at a distance, Decreto-Lei n.º 24/2014.

Permission to show what you post

You keep the rights in your text and photographs. You allow Teleporto to store them and show them on the site for as long as the post stays up. You confirm that you have the right to post them.

Removal

Teleporto may refuse a post, take it down, or block an IP address when the community rules are broken, when the law requires it, or when it is told about illegal content. Taking a post down is not, by itself, a statement that the post was illegal.

What is not promised

A guide is an explanation. It is not legal, tax or immigration advice, and it is not a statement by a public body. A listing can be wrong because a person wrote it. The site can be interrupted for maintenance or by a fault.

Liability

Teleporto answers for damage it causes on purpose or by serious fault. Portuguese law does not allow that responsibility to be written away.

Teleporto does not answer for what another person posts, for a deal you make with that person, or for a decision you take from a guide, except where the law keeps an intermediary responsible. Once Teleporto knows of illegal content, it can remove it under article 16 of Decreto-Lei n.º 7/2004.

Law and courts

Portuguese law applies. A case may be brought in the courts of the district of Porto. If you are a consumer and a mandatory rule gives you a different court, that rule remains.
