Community rules
These rules follow the law that applies in Portugal. They cover questions, answers, homes and cars.
Speak as yourself
Use your own name. Do not pretend to be another person, a business, or a public body. Write in English or in European Portuguese.
Listings must be true
A home or a car that you post is an advertisement. Under the Portuguese Advertising Code (Decreto-Lei n.º 330/90) it has to be identifiable as an ad, and it has to be true. Misleading offers are also unfair commercial practices (Decreto-Lei n.º 57/2008).
The price is in euros. For a car, the year, the mileage and the condition must match the vehicle. For a home, the price, the type of contract and the place must match what you are actually offering. Teleporto is not the seller and is not a party to the contract (Lei de Defesa do Consumidor, Lei n.º 24/96).
No discrimination in housing
You may not refuse a person, or write an ad that excludes a person, because of ancestry, sex, race, language, territory of origin, religion, political or ideological beliefs, education, economic situation, social condition, or sexual orientation. That duty comes from article 13 of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic and from Lei n.º 93/2017.
Nothing illegal
- No threats, defamation or insults (Código Penal, articles 153, 180 and 181).
- No fraud, phishing, or offers of false documents (Lei do Cibercrime, Lei n.º 109/2009).
- No incitement to hatred or violence.
- No sexual content involving minors.
- No one else’s identity documents, NIF, passport, residence card, bank details or private messages.
Other people’s work
Do not paste text, photographs or listings that you do not have the right to use (Código do Direito de Autor, Decreto-Lei n.º 63/85). Link to the original instead.
When something breaks the rules
On an answer, use Report. For a listing or a question, write to info@teleporto.biz. Once Teleporto knows of illegal content, it can take it down. That duty of an intermediary service is in Decreto-Lei n.º 7/2004, article 16.
Repeat abuse, or spam, can also lead to the poster’s IP address being blocked from publishing again.
