The card ran out. The portal has no slots. A Facebook page says they can book AIMA for me if I pay this week. Is the card’s expiry the whole story?

  1. Accepted answer

The plastic date is not something to ignore, and it is also not something a stranger can fix for a fee. Renewals go through the channel AIMA publishes, which has been the renewal portal and, for some EU-family cases, a contact form with a cutoff AIMA itself printed. Read aima.gov.pt on the day you act. Keep the confirmation that you asked. That PDF is what you show a landlord or an employer while you wait, together with the expired card, not a chat message.

Paying for an appointment is how people lose the money and sometimes the real slot. If a post says “this week only”, close it.
