Ask for a recibo on a Porto lease
Cash without a receipt is not a bargain. It is a file you cannot show later.

A landlord who wants the rent in cash and never issues a recibo is selling you a problem. You need the paper for tax, for a visa file, and for the day you leave and want the deposit back. Portuguese law expects rents to be declared. A chat message is not a recibo.
