Medicines after 60

Write every medicine on one page: the name, the dose, and who prescribed it, including anything bought without a prescription and anything sent from another country. Take that page to the family doctor once a year, and to the pharmacy when something new is added. Two doctors who cannot see each other’s list are how the same drug gets taken twice.
A pharmacy can explain a box and can suggest a generic when one exists. It cannot replace the doctor who started the medicine. Do not stop a heart or blood-pressure medicine because a video said it was unnecessary. If a dose feels wrong, call SNS 24 on 808 24 24 24 or the doctor, the same day. The pharmacy that is open at night changes. How to find it is in The pharmacy open tonight.
Keep the boxes in one cupboard, away from the stove, with the leaflet. A relative who helps should know where the list is. Sharing a leftover antibiotic, or buying one without a prescription because it worked for a neighbour, is a good way to be ill for longer.
