The pharmacy open tonight

A normal pharmacy in Porto closes in the evening and on Sunday. One pharmacy in the area stays on duty, the farmácia de serviço. The name on that rota changes. A list printed on a website last month is how people cross the city and find a shutter.

Look it up the same day. Three things that stay true:

• The nearest pharmacy posts the duty address in the window, even when it is closed.
• SNS 24, on 808 24 24 24 or sns24.gov.pt, can say which pharmacy is open. The same call is in When you are ill in Porto.
• If you need advice rather than a shop, start with that line. A pharmacy dispenses. It does not replace urgent care.

Bring the prescription, the SNS number if you have one, and a payment card. Some medicines that are cheap with a public prescription are not cheap without it. If the duty pharmacy is in another parish, a taxi is often faster than two buses at midnight. There is no single pharmacy that this page promises will be open, because that promise would be wrong by tomorrow.
