Porto café culture for remote workers
Porto cafés are for coffee and talk first. Some rooms tolerate a laptop; few want you to camp through lunch on one espresso.
Signals that a laptop is fine
Power sockets, other open notebooks, and a quiet mid-morning crowd. Specialty coffee bars in Cedofeita and Bonfim are usually clearer than a classic pastelaria with marble tables and a rush of standing patrons.
Order like you mean to stay
Buy a second drink after an hour. If the room fills for lunch, pack up. Coworking exists for full workdays, do not turn a neighbourhood café into your unpaid office.
See Places for cafés we list, and coworking when you need a desk with Wi‑Fi that is paid for that purpose.
