Campanhã station without getting lost
Campanhã is Porto’s main long-distance rail hub and a metro interchange. If your Alfa Pendular, Intercidades or regional train ends here, you are not yet in Baixa, you are at the eastern edge with clear links inward.
From train to metro
Follow the metro signs inside the complex. The same Andante logic applies: load or tap a valid title before you board. A tourist who walks out to the street taxi rank with three suitcases is fine; a resident who does that every week is burning money. Airport travellers often reverse the trip: metro to Campanhã, then a train north or south.
Buses and the neighbourhood
STCP stops surround the station. The streets immediately outside are practical, not pretty. If you are meeting someone, agree a landmark (metro entrance, train hall clock) instead of “outside Campanhã”.
Tickets
CP tickets are not Andante. Buy the train ticket on cp.pt or at the machines, then use Andante for the metro leg. Mixing the two in your head is how people stand in the wrong queue.
