Shopping at Bolhão market

Bolhão is a food market again, on Rua Formosa, not only a place to take a photo. The ground floor is produce, fish and flowers. Upstairs is coffee and a few stalls.

Go in the morning if you actually want to buy groceries. The board at the entrance has that day’s hours. They change, so this page does not print a timetable.

The metro stop Bolhão is a short walk. Bring cash and a card. A lot of stalls take both, and a few still prefer cash for a small bunch of herbs.

It is a normal municipal market. Taste before you buy fruit only if the stall invites you to. Ask the price before they weigh it.
