Government funds Metro extensions to Gondomar and Trofa

The Council of Ministers cleared roughly €487 million for mobility projects, including about €237 million for a Gondomar Metro line (around 7 km, nine stations from Estádio do Dragão toward Gondomar centre) and about €184 million for a Trofa extension (around 10 km from ISMAI, mixing metro and metrobus between 2027 and 2031). A separate top-up goes to Metro Mondego.

For daily riders this is good news with a long fuse. Financed lines still need detailed design, expropriations and construction windows. Keep your current Andante zones until a station actually opens near you.
